Michael D. Campbell, P.G., P.H. was born and raised in
Lancaster, Ohio, and has lived in Australia (Sydney), California, Colorado, Ohio and Wyoming in the 1960’s and early 1970’s, and in Texas since 1973.

He is well-known nationally and overseas for his work as a technical leader, senior program manager, consultant and lecturer in hydrogeology, mining, and associated environmental and geotechnical fields. He has conducted numerous mining-related assessments and environmental evaluations, and has published widely on subjects ranging from uranium exploration in the south-central region of the U.S. to frontier uranium areas, water well technology, rural water systems engineering and environmental subjects involving contaminants such as BTEX, solvents, and brine.

Over the years, he has progressed through the professional ranks from staff positions to senior roles as Principal and Corporate Consultant in geology and hydrogeology with environmental and engineering consulting companies, mining companies and the chemical industry. Mr. Campbell manages environmental, forensic, and mining investigations for industry and the legal community.

Summary of Mining and Mineral Exploration / Hydrogeological / Environmental / International Activities

In the early 1960’s, Mr. Campbell was selected as Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Department of Geology at The Ohio State University and worked on one of the first long-term groundwater contamination investigations involving oil-field pollution by open brine disposal pits in Ohio.

In 1966, Mr. Campbell joined Continental Oil Company (CONOCO), Minerals & Mining Group in Sydney, Australia working on mineral exploration and groundwater supply projects. He later served as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Queensland.

After returning to the U.S., he co-organized the National Water Well Association’s Research Facility and became its first Director of Research, later working at Rice University in Houston.

In 1975, he received The Ohioana Book Award in Science for Water Well Technology (McGraw-Hill).

He served as a United Nations Technical Expert (1976–1981) reviewing groundwater programs worldwide and contributed to EPA guidance on groundwater monitoring and hazardous waste response.

Throughout the 1980s and beyond, Mr. Campbell conducted extensive hydrogeological consulting work, including mining evaluations, contamination studies, and environmental compliance projects across the U.S. and internationally.

He later held senior roles including Corporate Hydrogeological Consultant at Law Engineering, and Regional Technical Manager at DuPont Environmental, overseeing multiple technical departments.

Since the mid-1990s, he has continued consulting on mining, environmental, and water resource projects, along with providing litigation support and expert testimony.

Mr. Campbell has been licensed as a Professional Geologist in multiple U.S. states and as a Professional Hydrogeologist in Washington, and holds national certifications in geology and hydrogeology.

He has also been designated as a Qualified Person (QP) under NI 43-101, JORC, and London AIM Exchange standards.
