The Energy Minerals Division’s 2017 review article was recently released in the Journal of Natural Resources Research (Springer) on the activities in the unconventional and alternative energy fields (EMD’s Chief Editor: Frances J. Hein).
I2M’s Chief Geologist, Michael D. Campbell is the Chair of the Committee on Uranium (Nuclear and REE) Minerals and served as the senior author of the section on uranium and associated thorium and rare earth minerals. Henry M. Wise Vice-Chair (Industry), and James R. Conca (Advisory Group) of UCOM served as co-authors in the section. (Article, see PDF pages: 35-50).
The paper also includes reviews of worldwide coal, geothermal, coal-bed methane (CBM), tight gas & liquids, bitumen & heavy oil, and shale gas and liquids, plus a review of the economics focused on coal and natural gas and oil production.
